Upon a Roman cross there hangs a man I cannot save
For this, Rome will have to pay
I must find the door to ebon depths where they degenerate
There's nothing I would spare to see Rome howl in pain
Eyes like golden stars shining in the dark
In Dagon's Barrow I will take the stone they must obey
The King of Picts has forced his claim
I must call my forces 'cross the isle they will join the fray
I swear by nameless ones and black gods of R'lyeh
Worms of the Earth I raise
The fallen ancient race
Atla's price, a night
With a king she'll lie
In the morning light
I can see her xanthous eyes...
Under the fallen tower they burrowed all the earth away
Look how Rome has come to pay
I must face this thing I've done, the broken look on Titus' face
With pity and with mercy, I draw my blade
Worms of the Earth I raised
The fallen ancient race

If Elric had a soundtrack it would be this. It's everything you want from a epic metal album. Like a hot poker in the eye, but in a good way. Scott Malthouse

never been a big death metal fan but this is actually super accessible for the genre, has fun concepts, and personally i'm always a fan of albums with short tracklists and huge runtimes (for individual songs) Great time, good jumping on point for newbies too. alienasu

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
